Re-heating

I highly recommend to thaw Boston Mountain Baby food in a sealed glass or ceramic container in the refrigerator overnight.  Slightly heat on low power in microwave if desired.

Alternatively, in a glass or ceramic container warm Boston Mountain Baby food in microwave for a limited amount of time on low power being careful not to overheat or burn.  Stir well distribute to heat and avoid hot spots.

Boston Mountain Baby food may also be warmed on the stovetop using a sauce pan over very low heat.

Because of harmful bacteria growth, never thaw food at room temperature.

Always test temperature before serving food to your baby.

When thawed, you may notice some separation in the baby food.  This is natural and due to the pure and simple ingredients of vegetables and filtered water.

Storing

Boston Mountain Baby food can be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months. You may notice that the food thaws quickly at room temperature so be sure to re-seal the bag and return the remaining food to your freezer as soon as possible.

Once thawed, food should be stored in the refrigerator and served to your baby within 3 days.

Ice crystals may form on your baby food.  This is natural and does not indicate ‘freezer burn’, nor does it affect the quality of the food as long as it is consumed within 3 months of purchase.

Favorite Pancakes

This is my mother in law’s recipe with a Boston Mountain Baby twist!

1 egg

1 cup buttermilk

2 T oil

2 thawed cubes Boston Mountain Baby Bunny’s Banquet or So Sweet Potatoes

1 cup whole wheat flour

1 T sugar (optional)

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

Blueberries (optional)

Lightly beat egg and add remaining ingredients in order listed.  Mix until smooth.

Spray griddle.

Pour ¼ cup of batter in pan and make 2-4 pancakes at a time.  Add 5-10 blueberries to each pancake.

Flip pancake when bottom is golden brown and bubbles appear on the top of the pancakes.

Tip: I triple or quadruple the recipe and freeze the extras for later. Just separate each pancake with waxed paper, place in freezer bag and re-heat in toaster.

Serve with extra berries and real maple syrup, enjoy, and have peace of mind knowing you are giving your family extra nutrition it needs and deserves!!!
